Emma spared no expense when it came to doing up the school. The Ballroom was did up in red and white decorations to celebrate Valentine’s Day. Tables of expensive food and drink were set up along the side of the room as a live band played in center stage with white and red rose petals sprinkled about the tables and stage. At the moment, the band was playing some soft slow music but their set list would include some more lively music that high schoolers should like. To Emma this was not just a celebration of the holiday of love and romance but a celebration of what she had created. It took a lot to turn Emma’s mother ancestral home into an influential school for mutants. More than just money went into turning the estate into something she could show off. She was sure that Xavier would see, unlike some of her form classmate, Emma did not waste her time since leaving school. The blonde telepath just had to remind herself to be gracious under the praise she would receive tonight. For the dance, she did just not just pay for a band, the finest catered food and expensive decorations but six ball gowns plus her own. Her girls had to look as good as she did for after all they were her girls. She just wondered if Jean Paul and Sean would be able to keep Sharon’s dress on her. Both would get a bonus if they did manage the task. Emma stood at the entrance of the Ballroom dress all in white and her blonde hair set and curled in old Hollywood flair. Her dress had silver and crystal beading on it that empathize her breasts along with her curves. She might be showing off just a little. She looked to her ‘date’ for the night, her former teacher and head of the rival school Professor Charles Xavier. She just finished giving him the complete tour of the new additions she had put into the school. “It has come a long way from the shambles my grandfather left it in when he pass but it is coming together nicely.” She shrugged as if it was nothing and as if she was not fishing for his praise or approval. “Tell me what do you think of my little school, Professor?”((Staff Notice: Initial Posting Order: Emma, Xavier, Jean, Scott. Xavier had no qualms about the concept of the shared social event for the two mutant schools. He had received the invitation on New Years and the two had met and planned the shared events for the two schools. He was also quite glad to see her host the first Valentine's Day Ball for the two schools. It would be quite enjoyable to see the work she had done.
But he had never expect this. Her facilities were quite impressive and on par with his own. He did think that her unique developments were quite fascinating. She had put out all the stops and Xavier was no fool to the reasons. She had earned the recognition she sought.
"I remember its state when you first left the school to pursue your dreams. I am glad you were able to secure this place and turn it into the place it has become." Xavier wore a suit and tie in traditional black and white. A red heart lapel on his tie was the only indication of the holiday.
"The school will prove to be an excellent sister school to Xavier's." Or rival, but his thoughts were not towards that at the moment. Even so, he knew that Emma's intentions were only toward the same goal as his... a differing approach perhaps, but no less peaceful.
The two of them moved to the table at the front of the room. It was going to be quite an interesting show tonight. "You did an amazing job for the ball Emma." He said as he sipped his glass of water.

Jean didn’t like the idea of going to Emma’s school for Valentine’s Day. She didn’t trust the other telepath at all and was sure she was up to something. She knew both Xavier and Scott thought otherwise both seem very tightly wrapped around Emma’s little finger. So she bit her tongue and kept her thoughts to herself so not to seem catty. She had taken a lot of time and effort to putting her outfit for tonight together. For some reason, she believed it was going to be hard to grab Scott’s attention tonight and keep it. She wore a white dress of satin and lace. The skirt of the dress reached the floor and had slit going up it so she could still show off her legs. The lace over the bodice of the dress was almost transparent in places teased to what wonders lie under the dress. Jean also made sure to make sure the phoenix necklace Scott gave her was on full display for all to see. Her red curls were brushed and made to cascade over one of her bare shoulders. Upon entering the school her eyes went over everything. She wanted to find something wrong and out of place to prove her suspicion. She tried not to frown or scowl when she found nothing. When she reached the entrance of the Ballroom she shook her head reminding herself tonight wasn’t about her or Emma but the children. The children were more important than any old high school rivalry she and Emma had. She smiled at her date. Scott was looking very sexy tonight. Though, she could help be wondered if it wasn’t for the dance needing a chaperons would he be out with her tonight or would he be out with someone else. Part of her wanted to peak in his thoughts and see who he was thinking about on the day of lovers. “Emma has put together something interesting.” She said softly knowing that was a close to praise as she could get to praise for Emma. Jean then tilted her head to the side. “What do you think?” She wanted him to say Emma looked like a fat cow but she doubted that was the response see was going to get but she could dream.

Scott walked into the ballroom and marveled at Emma's school and mansion. She had put together a beautiful location and setup for her school. Scott himself wore a black jacket and slacks with a spring of dew flowers in his lapel. He had given Jean some red roses for her to take with her to their table in the spy's spot. They were working tonight but Scott figured it could be a working date. His shirt was heart red instead of white. Whether or Scott knew that it was red was left to others to speculate.
He walked in with Jean and looked to where Xavier and Emma were seated and nodded to them. Scott's own thoughts paralleled Jean in one respect. He wondered who she would be with tonight if she didn't have to be here. That thought was pushed to the back of his mind as he considered Jean's question.
He gave her a soft smile and a kiss on her lips. "I think the Professor should be proud of what she has put together." He made the error of going on. "She seems to have gotten pretty far in the world. I haven't really seen her much since a year after we graduated."
Scott hoped that Jean wasn't poking around his head right now as his eyes drifted under his red glasses to Emma and thought about what happened during that year while he was at community college.
He led her to the table. "What would you like to drink?"

All five girls were dressed in white, their mother had bought them matching dresses, and they figured it was just to point out how much they looked like her and each other, which was fine as she just wanted them to look pretty like her and to show them off. The girls entered the ballroom together, quickly spotting their mother together with people who probably were the staff of Xavier’s school, they quickly figured that two of them were telepaths, they would not even try to read their minds, but the male with the sunglasses were fair game.
Scott Summers, the man was impressed but they quickly got bored with his mind, they couldn’t be bothered looking at his past or anything, he just seemed a bit too normal. It was first when he thought about their mother when they had been about to leave his mind “oh gross” Esme whispered to the others, they all nodded in agreement, this man had images in his head that they did not want to see, how disturbing! They were glad they couldn’t read Emma’s mind now, they had really not needed to see that!
They made their way over to the staff members and gathered around Emma “it is a pleasure to meet you, we have heard so much about you all” they said with sweet smiles towards the three Xavier staff members. “We hope you will all enjoy your time here at Massachusetts Academy, we would obviously love to see your school too one day, to see where our dear mother spent her youth and had her education” Sophie was doing the talking, but they had all internally agreed on what to say “now, excuse us, we have a party to take part in” they all smiled as they left the staff group. During the greetings, Esme kept looking Scott over, at least their mother had good taste.
The five girls made their way over to the food and drinks as Celeste and Phoebe were thirsty. They agreed on the fact that this had been awkward but they had done their duty, now Emma could brag about her beautiful well behaved daughters too, which was the only reason why they had bothered greeting the staff members of the other school. The girls decided to strengthen their mental block defenses, there were two strangers who were telepaths and they did not like it, they had never had to fight to keep their defenses up and they did not want to have to do that, they would make sure there was no way to enter their minds.

So there was this dance..... And Terry really didn't feel like going to it. But it was a big deal within the town, and a big deal to Ms. Frost that all her students be there and accounted for. Terry still felt obligated to behave on campus for Emma's sake, if for no other reason than the woman kept her out of an orange jumpsuit. Plus, she had seen the way Sean looked at Emma, and still wasn't sure if she liked it or not. But her da wanted her to go to the dance and have a good time. So she'd do her best. Who knows, maybe someone would spike the punch. Terry had taken special care and time with her outfit, and made a special note to thank Mindy-- or was it Esme?-- for the loan of the strappy red shoes on her feet. Had the blond not been listening to her thoughts and hearing her lament her clothing and shoe choices, she would have shown up barefoot. She made her way to the punch bowl, filled a glass, and when no one was looking slipped he airplane sample of vodka hidden under her black cuff bracelet into her cup. Sighing, Theresa took a long slow drink from her individually spiked cup, keen green eyes surveying the room.

((OOC Note: I am still going to fulfill the Circus storyline but its resolution will leave Kurt and most likely Bran at Xavier's))
Cherubs were singing... probably about the imp in the corner. After all what was the Valentine's Day dance without a little satyr, minus the cloven feet of course. Kurt had just recently joined the school after... an overly aware crowd caught on to the circus's magic.
Much like Mira had said, Xavier's was an open arms and doors location. Kurt had just joined the school when the dance was to be held. He got a nice suit that would not clash with his fur and not blend with his fur.
He ported into the hall from the hallway, entering with a splash of brimstone smoke for theater. He wore a black suit and pants with a navy blue shirt. He wore navy blue footies that covered his non-uniform feet. Shoes were too inconvenient. He wore in his shirt a white bowtie.
Kurt hadn't had much of a chance to meet anyone at the school save Mira and those who brought him here. So tonight was looking like a good start. He wondered about the second school though, was there really the demand for two mutant schools this close together?

Mindee excused herself from her sisters and headed over to the punch bowl on her own. The Irish girl Theresa Cassidy was over there, she smirked as she read her mind, she wanted to thank her and she had spiked her own drink “need help blocking the other telepaths from knowing you just spiked your own drink?” she said as she approached her with a friendly smile “I just had to look at you in order for my mind to catch that.”
She nodded to her shoes “you look good in my shoes, they actually fit you better than they fit me” she shrugged “keep them if you want, my mother buys me shoes all the time and she keeps telling us not to wear the same thing twice” she rolled her eyes a bit and looked towards Emma, she was glad she had mental blocks up.
The other Cuckoos were watching from a distance, listening in on the conversation through Theresa’s mind as they couldn’t get through Mindee’s blocks without a big mental fight. “We are all glad you have decided to behave, orange might be a good color on you, but I think you look better in red” she said with a smile and played a bit with her long blonde hair as she spoke.

www.polyvore.com/day_shennannigans_boomer/set?id=72399712In the far end of the room, but an open window, the members of the Xavier's School "Hellcats" Cheerleaders were gathered in the corner turning acrobatic tricks and laughing hysterically. "Guys!" Tabitha Smith, team captain (and really too old to be a student but what dis she know) said with a snap-to-it-or-else tone to her voice. "Take it outside and into practice clothes if y'all wanna show off yer moves. Here, keep it to the dance floor, huh? We're s'posed to be examples!"Boy. being captain sucked sometimes. Especially when it meant cutting into her fun. Tabby would love to be the one launching through the roundoff back handspring backflip split combo. But no, as Captain she had to be Debbie Downer and keep everyone on their best behavior. That did not mean neglecting her self appointed state as the resident Welcome Wagon. So Tabby began to make the rounds. When she got to Kurt, she checked him out long and hard. He reminded her of Mira with his dark coloring, but--different. His blue-black fur seemed to scream "RUMPLE ME", and his eyes were a beautiful shade of gold. Not everyone's idea of sexy. But then again, Tabby had had ENOUGH of everyone elses ideas. She smiled her brightest and most winning smile, and toyed with one of the loose springy curls framing her face enticingly. "Hiya... yer new here right? Ah'm Tabitha. Most folk call me Boomer. Welcome to Xavier's. Or are you a Frosty?" She asked, her smile never dampening.

Kurt wasn't the only 'Satyr' hanging about at the dance, though he was most certainly the male of the duo. As Mira stepped out onto the dance floor she would appear as a 'human' female thanks to the blocky thing about her wrist. But that would quickly change as she flicked the power switch to 'off' thus revealing her true self as her tail unwound from her slim waist. Her clothes for the most part stayed the same when she turned her inducer off, save for her now lacking in shoes; it was mighty hard to wear a thing when your own feet weren't built for them after all. But now with her wicked taloned feet revealed at least those of Frost's school would now see why this girl had been so slowmoving as she entered.
Clearly smooth floors like the area meant for dancing were hard on her. But she didn't seem to let a thing like shiny floors dampen her spirits today; heck not even the fact that she might still be in trouble after the whole series of shenanigans at the Circus seemed to bother her. Though she was being mindful of avoiding being seen by the Professor and Scott at the least, just to be safe. She hadn't been told expressly that she was banned from the party for her...transgressions after all. Though she stopped her movements to watch her Roomie interact with Kurt and chuckled softly "least those two seem to be having fun".
If the two got along that would probably mean good times for them; which Mira was oddly happy about. Granted her first thought was it had made her happy to see her new friends getting along; but she didn't know it might have a deeper meaning than that. So, instead of messing up Tabby and Kurt's chat time Mira tried to move along toward the refreshments table. Of course her slow movements would likely call others attention to her, especially the ones who knew how quick she usually moved. As of right now all other thoughts were replaced with 'I do NOT want to end up on my arse in front of everyone...' .

The Dance Hall was not Sean's thing. But tonight, he was working not mingling. He knew that only four would be chaperoning the dance and thus arrived as quickly as possible. He wore a black turtleneck and a vest of green. His dress pants seemed incongruious with the dress boots he wore. Despite the Ball Room being party dark, Sean wore red sunglasses. He doubted most would realize that they were more than a stylized accessory, it was a computerated display that gave him information on either school's student on voice command. A step he had taken.
He scanned the room as he entered. The two heads were at the front of the room. Emma looked stunning as always. He was one of the few who had no real experience with the venerated Professor Xavier. He would have to meet him another day.
Jean and Scott were Xavier's chaperones, a nice couple, a working date it seemed they were on. Cute kids but to some degree they were just kids themselves not much older than there charges. Sean hoped he didn't have to end up chaperoning them tonight. He spotted Terry and smiled to her, giving her a wave but then headed for a side wall. Tonight wasn't a night he figured she would want her da' around too much.
Sean took up a post behind the punch bowl and had a cup. Nobody was playing games tonight with that concoction.

Everett slipped into the Ball Room of the Massachusetts Academy and smirked at the assemblage thus far. He spotted the Cuckoos off to the side and made a point of rotating his way towards them. He was always curious about them.
Everett wore a very traditional suit and tie combination, black and white. He was quite pleased with the results and stood tall in the outfit. He passed the concession section and grabbed a cup of punch. He then headed for his goal. Five cute blondes.
Four, correction, looks like one of them had wandered off to visit Theresa Cassidy. That made it easier. As he approached them he fortified his mind using their own telepathy, it was cute.
He made his way over to them and smiled warmly. "Hello ladies." He looked them over. They were almost creepy in how exact they were. He knew these were the girls Emma meant but wasn't sure if they were hers anymore. How many years were between the Cuckoos and Emma... 7 at most?
"How are you enjoying the evening?" Everett wasn't greedy, he was just seeing if one of them would bite. Would they use the twin handbook and mess with him by switching out? Could be fun.

Catseye was not happy. Emma had stylists messing with her hair, putting make up on her face and dressing her. The catgirl did not like the fuss or the clothes or the fact they made her wear shoes. The only reason she didn’t change formed was the fact it was for White Boss Lady, she had done a lot for her and Catseye would do anything for her. So Catseye suffered through heels that made her feel like she was falling and long skirt that only seem to get in her way. The fact the stylists made her even wear clothes under the dress just made her fell like she was trapped in a net. The lilac haired cat girl stood in the door way to the Ballroom and looked around cautiously. Her long skirt and heels made it where she couldn’t just rush in at full speed like she normally did. If she did she would end up tripping and falling on her face. She was a cat and falling on her face was just not dignify. So, Catseye focused on one point in the ball room. She decided her focus point would be the refreshment table. Food could help her through her suffering. The catgirl eyes narrowed in focus and her tail stood at attention as she slowly moved towards the table. Her long skirt swishing and swirling about as she moved and then her foot caught the hem of her skirt send the young catgirl pitching forward into the refreshment table.

Lorna had misgiving about even going to the ball, she much rather stay at the school and go drink out behind the boathouse. Then she reminded herself that she was a senior this years and she need to make it where she is notice before she went off to school. She will do her best to look like she was having fun. She wore a long black dress for black was slimming but she was sure that she still looked like a blimp. Her metallic tinted locks was twisted up into a bun that she was sure to be a fuzzy green mess by the end of the night. One accessory she was missing was of course a date but she did her best to act like it was her choice and not the idea of Lorna Dane having a Valentine’s date was almost laughable. Her eyes darted around the Ballroom as she reminded herself to at least act like she belonged. Part of her knew despite her attempts to look like she was having fun and pretending to belong would fail, the room had way too many telepath for her to be successful. Then again she was not new to failure; it was something she was comfortable with by now. Her eyes went to the ‘adult table’ where Ms. Frost and the Professor sat. That was one area of the Ballroom she would avoid with all cost. She smiled and nodded politely like she was supposed to before heading towards the distant wall. Lorna would love to dance but she was sure she would spend the night as a wallflower. Maybe if she was lucky someone would spike the punch and then make the lonely day of love a bit more tolerable to the young green haired metal mistress. Then again she guess her night could have been worse, she could have been working tables at Harry’s and have drunken townies try to slid their hands up her shorts likes last year.

Emma was pleased with Xavier’s words, Jean’s jealousy and Scott’s drifting thoughts. Her Cuckoos shown to be beautiful and well behave. Her eyes drifted around the room to see how well the two schools were mingling. Her eyes settled on Sean for a moment when he enter and wondering if he would mind taking her around the dance floor because her date couldn’t. The Ball had just started and everything was already going well.
She focused on Xavier for now. “I think these shared social events will be good for both school. It will give them a sense of normalcy, community and something to look forward to.” She said everything the child development books said. She brushed a stray hair back into place. “I also think the games will have similar effects as well as build self-esteem and a healthy completive spirit.”
Then something caught her attention. Something that she would ruin the perfectness of all her planning and she could not let that happen. Not with the little redhead princess cow there to be all smug and perfect.
*Sean! Sharon is about to fall into the refreshment table.* He was close enough and had good enough reflexes that he should be able to keep the catgirl from causing too much unwanted chaos. Sean was one of the few that she trusted enough to save her from embarrassment.
*I will owe you if you pull it off.* He was also one of the few that she trusted enough to make such a promise to. Her eyes shifted back to Xavier and she smiled as if she had no trouble.
“What are your thoughts on the game?” She asked curious of her mentor’s thoughts on such things.
