Jimmy had been late to the party, hardly in character of the young man. But frankly he was nervous for this, his first real social event in America, and had been attempting to make sure he looked as good as possible for the Canadian. Normally, someone like James MacDonald Hudson III wouldn't care too terribly much about something like this, and how obsessive he was feeling right now was just an utterly terrible one.
When he arrived, the mutant simply moved straight to where the drinks were, fetched one, and moved himself to a corner of the room. He, more or less, doctored the one beverage his entire time there. Looking around, Jimmy recognized a few classmates from here in Massachusetts. However, about half of the people here were completely alien to the young man. Clearly they were the students from the New York mutant school. The School for Gifted Children or something? Honestly not a lot of energy had been put into remembering the name so forgive him for not remembering..... Oh god, was he talking to himself in his own head? Thank goodness that most telepaths probably hadn't focused on him during that entire spiel.
Tonight, Hudson was wearing a pretty standard black jacket and white button-up shirt. Around his neck was a bright red tie that was clipped to the shirt itself. His hair was also combed somewhat neatly, but in his obsessive behavior had somehow managed to make it still remain messy.

Kurt turned his attention as the Wildcats' head cheerleader approached him. He always liked cheerleaders... his laptop was full of pictures of them. Sort of. "Hello there mein freulin." He smirked to her. "Thank you for the velcome to Xavier's. I am indeed a member of our school. I joined recently after my circus was... err... besieged when people realized some of the performances vere mutant based."
He smiled to her and her his hand. "My name is Kurt, it is good to meet you mein freulin." He smiled to her showing the fangs in his mouth. "I vas an acrobat in the circus, performing as the Amazing Nightcrawler. Until yesterday they just thought I was a performer in an outfit." She was beautiful, nice blonde hair, bright eyes, a good fit body.
"What vould you like to drink?"

Sophie, Phoebe, Celeste and Esme was keeping an eye on Mindee, they considered her the most naïve and probably the most stupid too at times, which was why they were all pretty protective over her. They were slightly startled when they was approached by a boy who had put up a mental block, similar to their own, they all turned and looked at him, while still reading Theresa Cassidy’s mind so they could hear the conversation between her and Mindee.
“Hello” they all said in unison “we” “are” “fine” “thanks” they said, each saying one word each, but since their voices were all the same, it sounded like one person had spoken, the sound just came from different mouths. “How are you?” Sophie asked “which school are you from?” none of them had noticed him before “enjoying the party?” Esme asked with a smile.
They were more than capable of breaking his mental block, he was just one person and they were four, but it cause him pain and most likely cause a scene which Emma Frost would not approve of. They just decided they would read his mind some other time if he ever let his mental blocks down or were off guard, maybe while he slept?
At least he caught their attentions and made them all curious.

Terry smiled friendly at Mindee. "Aye, t'anks again fer the shoes, as well as fer the maskin. Me da would have me head ifn he found out I was back onna sauce."
She gave Mindee a conspiratorial wink, and offered half her drink to the blonde.
Something caught her eye then, a new boy on the block....
So, Mindee---" She began softly, nudging her with her elbow. "What can ye tell me about the new boy onna block o'er there?"
She nodded her head towards where Jimmy Hudson was standing. Discreetly of course.
Because Terry was SO known for discretion.
Her mind flashed back through the night in the bar with stranger Bobby, and Terry was sure Mindee got a few hot and steamy images to pour over as she did. But she hadn't seen him or heard from him since then, maybe because school had started and he was busy teaching. Or maybe just because he didn't want to see her again.
or maybe because he lost the napkin where she wrote her number. That could be possible too....

Xavier thought the ball was going stunningly and his eyes drifted across the room, his students and hers. It was still just getting started and Xavier found his thoughts on the ball drifting about a little. He did think her 'girls' were being well behaved. He still had his reservations about their nature but would pass it for many other days to come.
"Its important for both groups to have that relationship. What other school has a population and staff and studies that shared with our own?" He swirled the water in his goblet. "Hopefully one day we can have fellow schools in other parts of the world. Either our own branches or others that grow in their own home soil."
"As you said normalcy is part of the goal, many of them came from schools with those rituals and ceremonies." He sipped his water and set it down. "I also would love to see how our students fair against one another. We are doing this in the Danger Room and each of our power trainers will be designing a program for the opposing school. Same requirements for the simulation but the design will be up to Sean or Scott." He smiled. "Jean will accompany Sean and you will accompany Scott to make sure things are done fairly."

Sean was behind the refreshment table as he watched a green haired girl and then Catseye slip into the room. He watched the catgirl who seemed to be behaving and staying cloth. It was a minor miracle. He would thank god later.
He watched as the girl walked across the room and headed for the refreshment table. He smirked to himself as he heard Emma. *I will do what I can.*[/i] He slipped across the distance and grabbed Sharon as she started to fall.
He righted her and smiled to her. "Hello there Catseye. Why donna you take off your shoes so you can walk better? I am sure Emma won't mind."[/b] He walked with her beside the table and helped her pick out a meal for herself. Hey she was cute to be around.

Bran walked in to the dance. He'd felt as if he'd been asleep for about a month....wow he slept heavy. Well that didn't matter now he was rested, shaved, and itching just a bit in his tweed suit. The name tweed always made him chuckle. It sounded geeky and speaking of geeky..who was the hottie hitting on Curt? Hmmm perhaps his fuzzy blue bro would perform an amazing act later on this evening by keeping a girl interested in his soft jello soul for more then 10 actual minutes. Cause he loved Curt, but GQ wasn't knocking. Ah the beautiful soul worked for him though. That and MY GOD did the girl belong on the next cover of MAXIM. Bran let out a jaw stretching yawn and headed over to the purple hair girl by the punch bowl. "Hello pretty girl, would ya mind fixin me a drink of the punch gotta bit of a thirst." He reached for a cup while scrathing at his neck. Bran wasn't very comfortable in suits he was a jean and t shirt guy or no shirt at all guy.
Still the night required some semblance of class. Well fortunately Bran always kept a thimble of class in his sock drawer. So happy endings to all for that.

The smile that was always normal on Jean’s face slipped for a moment before falling back in to place. “You saw her a year after graduation?” She repeated hoping she heard him wrong but had a strong feeling she hadn’t. She ground her teeth and looked to Emma both not wanting to know and curious how close they were when she was gone.
“I didn’t know you two had gotten…” The redhead paused for a moment and chose her words carefully not wanting to ruin the night by burning the place down in a fit of jealousy. She reminded herself that tonight was not about her but the kids. “Close. I am sorry you fell out of touch.” Her tone taking an overly sweet tone that could rot teeth swearing to not to let either into that it got to her.
“A drink would be nice.” Jean said softly her eyes drifting back to Scott. She doubted that Emma’s fancy refreshment tables have the kind of drink she needed to deal with this new bit of information.
She kept getting mental images that she really didn’t want of Emma and Scott; if she didn’t know better she would think Emma was putting them into her head. Of course, she knew it wasn’t Emma for she would dare do such a thing while sitting next to Xavier, the pretty little blonde snake. Despite her boiling jealous and anger she managed to nod and give a polite smile to Emma when they caught each other eye. The blonde would never guess how fuming the redhead was. She also remind herself she couldn’t be mad at Scott for she had left him to go to college and she had figure he had gotten with other girls while she was gone. But why, out of all the girls in the world, did he have to get with her?
While Scott was getting her drink she did her best to push her unpleasant thoughts out and focus on having the students. She had the whole ride home to talk to Scott about her unpleasant thoughts. *Mira, don’t worry. Everyone here is just like and just wants to have a good time. Just relax and find a cute boy to dance with…*Jean paused as if considering something. *Or girl if one catches your eye.*

A faint 'jolt' before the out loud thought of 'whoa...ok thanks Jean...forgot you could do the telepathy thing hehehe' occurred. Then Mira tried to loosen up enough to walk normally for her. She was still moving overly carefully though, falling hurt after all. But she did eventually make it to the table; and even managed to get a plate of chow before finding a corner. Jean might have suggested dancing but unknowingly Mira had a similar issue as her friend Mortimer. Having wicked talons for fingers did make getting close to people a tad hard.
Trying to avoid contact for awhile however didn't guarantee she wouldn't call attention to herself via a slight blush that would fuzz her out. Go figure the fuzzy 'dark elf' couldn't blush normally huh?. So while eating she tried consistently to get her furry hide to lie flat. Which would likely have the effect of people noticing her. If only to see what was wrong if they felt like being nice. She didn't seem to compute the fact that Jean might have noted the bit of her thoughts pertaining to any attractions she felt for either gender; and so wasn't freaked at Jean's suggestion. She was just massively shy at the present.
So for the moment Mira would be utterly ok with people watching. Even with the likelihood that Jean might come over an try to get Mira to open up a bit. Or someone else might come along to chivvy her out of her safe spot. Whether it'd be someone from her own school or from Frost's remained to be seen.

Jimmy wandered around the school with some quickness, his feet very sure but his mind not so much, Hudson certainly needing someting to do to keep himself occupied or he'd drive himself nuts with all this wandering around. The fact that this school was the one they attended at least allowed him to have some degree of comfort in the situation. Otherwise, he probably would have just stayed by the drinks and done nothing. Most people didn't particularly like him the first time they met, considering, he was usually a bit short with most people.
That probably wasn't the best way to go about this, however. Being friendly was likely the best way to get people to like him more quickly. So the young man made the resolution to behave in a much more friendly way towards people he'd meet, At least today, as a bit of a test run.
Before he knew it, Hudson had managed to make his way to the same corner that Mira was in, not aware of the other animalistic mutant's presence in the shadowy nook. By mistake, he ran into the young woman and nearly spilled the bright red punch all over her dress. It took very little effort on the feral's part to actually catch the cup, but much more self-control not to have his face match the color of the drink in emberassment.
"Oh jeez, I'm so sorry!" He exclaimed apologetically, moving to catch anything that she may have dropped as well. Standing up at full hieght, his eyes went large when he saw what the girl looked like. "Woah!" Jimmy cried out in excitement, "you look awesome, what's your power?" That was always something that he asked other mutants with physical mutations like his own, even if hers were more apparent. Jimmy wasn't really sure what else to do, not being good at girls who were like him quite yet, and also only having worked with extremely shallow women who didn't care much about depth. But since the last time a girl like that didn't work so well Jimmy was hoping for a girl with a little more character and individuality this time around.
