This is first and foremost a school. The Basics
Name: Rachel Anne Summers Codename: StarChild Type of Character: Canon Species: Mutant Play-by or Voice Actor: Hayley Williams Age: 15 Gender: Female Sexual Preference: Heterosexual Height: 5'7” Weight: 125lbs
Faction: New Mutants/ Xavier School School Year: 10th Grade Occupation: Student
Tough break Scott, doing the school play with pale gloomy and grumpy over there. The Details
Body Type: Rachel is a female on the taller end of the spectrum, being a full five foot seven inches tall in her bare feet, and with a healthy weight of one hundred and twenty-five pounds, she is definitely not a girl you'd assume a strong wind could blow away. Rachel has a softly curved figure, boasting a full B cup, and maybe a drop or two more in the chest department, a smaller waist, and full hips to give her a slight hour-glass figure.
Wardrobe: Attire is quite a thing of luxury for Rachel. She is quite happy to be in a closet full of clothing. Jeans, T-shirts, skirts, dresses, blouses, No bit of clothing, for men or women is off-limits to Rachel. She ranges from girlish to tom-boyish, and her attire changes greatly from day to day, though she tries to steer clear of orange and red.
Her naturally red hair is often in an array of designs as well, pig-tails, ponytails or left straight down. Rachel doesn't have any sort of 'trademark' or 'signature' outfits.
Costume: As a New Mutant, Rachel's outfit will be made of mostly black specially designed Kevlar [Thinner for easier movement, though nearly as strong as the original], with a thick golden-yellow stripe down the sides.
Posture: Rachel isn't much worried about her posture. Generally, however, she holds herself with a confident air, while escaping a stand-offish sort of conceited appearance. She, at times of laziness or sleepiness, will slouch a bit, though it gives her a bit of pain in her lower back.
Personality: Rachel has an uncontrollable empathy for those less fortunate that she, and while she battles with being a bit less 'naiive-ish', she finds herself going out of her way to make others feel better, provided, of course, that they haven't gone out of their way to upset her.
Rachel is generally a sweet, caring individual, however she is extremely passionate and has a bit of a mean-streak, as she lives up to her hair-color's stereotype of having a fiery temper, If she feels threatened or offended, she has quite a cruel wit with her comebacks. Rachel is quite stubborn, and seriously determined with anything she does, which often leads the teen into a bit of trouble with authority figures.
Rachel enjoys reading and writing while she's alone, however if she's stressed, she often turns on her IPod and sings her heart out, or draws. Singing releases stress, while drawing allows her to feel far more calmed than anything else.
Rachel, while seeming to be quite the 'normal' teenager, is quite afraid of what her powers could potentially become, though more so, she's afraid that she, despite being told otherwise, will never get a firm grasp on her abilities.
Her telepathic ability is quite rampant, and with reading other people's minds at various times, without her, or anyone elses consent, often puts her at odds against socializing with others. Rachel is terrified that if she cannot control her ability, than she will eventually go crazy.
Rachel has moments of being truly confused, since she arrived at an orphanage at the age of ten, with no sign of family and not a bit of memory. She does, at times have flashbacks, though she hasn't been able to put the pieces together.

So... got any cool powers? Powers and Abilities
Genetic Mutation: Power: Telepathy Status: Uncontrolled
Rachel's telepathic ability is uncontrolled at best. She has no buffer where it comes to whose mind she reads and when. She tries not to feel different towards the person when she finds out their true thoughts about her and of other things, but it's quite difficult, and people tend to react strangely to the point of being violent towards her. People don't like their thoughts being read without their permission, after all.
Power: Telekinesis Status: Semi-Controlled
Rachel's telekinetic ability is at most, semi-controlled. She doesn't have mini-tantrums and throw objects around with her mind anymore, but that's about as far as her control is concerned. Thus far she has been able to lift things of approximately 20 to 22 pounds in weight, for about 1000 feet. The lower the weight, the further she ca mentally carry it, for up to one half mile. When stressed out, she has been able to lift things of 50 pounds or more, and toss them as easily as she would a paper ball.
Weaknesses:
As far as weakness is concerned, Rachel's powers are quite a bit a weakness, in her opinion. She cannot be around a lot of people, despite her social personality, because to do so, would open her up to psychic interference. She automatically begins to read people's minds, which, once a person finds out, puts her in a bit of physical danger.
Her telekinetic power used to be a great deal more problematic for her. At times, under great stress, she has been able to lift heavier objects and toss them with ease, putting not only herself in harms way, but others as well.
Another weakness for her is her amnesia. Whether it be permanent or temporary is unknown to Rachel. She has no memories before ending up at the orphanage at the age of 10.
Learned Abilities: From the point of her emerging at the orphanage at the age of ten, she has remembered everything that has happened to her, everything that she has seen, read, or heard. In short she has an eidetic or photographic memory.
She's a self-trained singer, and she desires to learn to play the violin.
Resources: None currently
Education: She isn't sure how much schooling she's had total, though she attended public school from the age of 10 until fourteen when her powers emerged. After that, she has been taught by the staff of the orphanage.
So why not tell them the Truth Charles? The History
A flash.. a red haired woman snuggling a baby in a pink blanket. A smile on her pale lips. The child was indeed loved. Loved more, perhaps than anyone had been loved by the woman ever. Another face passed in front of the baby's eyes. A man, smiling as well.
And that's all that Rachel remembered of her early childhood. The next thing that Rachel remembered is standing in front of a rather ominous looking structure. Like an old cathedral or some other sort of establishment, Rachel found it to be both scary and safe looking.
A harsh looking dark haired woman with a smattering of gray through her strands met her at the door. A slight smile held her lips, though it looked as though the simple gesture was painful for the woman. Rachel was drawn into the building. It was a place for all lost, lonely children, and Rachel was both lost and very, very lonely.
Upon questioning, Rachel found out that all she could remember about herself was that her name was Rachel Anne Summers and that she had turned ten years old a mere month and a half prior, on the twenty-eighth of May. After Rachel was there for about a week, she was enrolled in a public elementary school. Everything seemed to be normal until she turned fourteen.
Rachel was something of a late bloomer, not filling out, or even getting her first menstrual cycle until she was fourteen, and with introduction to 'womanhood', she began to hear voices. Or so she thought. When she was around other people, she'd hear their voice pondering on different things, worries, fears, desires.. in short, she heard their innermost thoughts. She said nothing about her new observation, though one day in school, after getting teased for being an 'orphan', Rachel picked up a desk and threw it at a classmate, however she didn't touch it with her hands.
Ms. Sampson, the woman who ran the orphanage came to collect her charge, and from that day on, she was responsible for home-schooling the girl, rather than sending her back to the school. Roughly a year later, there was a visitor at the orphanage. This visitor spoke with Ms. Sampson, and then with Rachel. This man, Professor Charles Xavier told her that he and his associates could help her with training her abilities. He revealed himself to be like Rachel. He spoke directly into her mind, while Rachel could only hear the thoughts he allowed her to hear.
With that, and with Ms. Sampson's permission, Professor Xavier brought Rachel with him to his school.
(I hope it's alright that I used Professor X for a brief bit of her history.)

First business is first: Come up with a different codename as Jean is currently useing Marvel Girl herself. My suggestion (feel free to come up with something better) is Star Child.
Personality: Incorporate her fear of her powers and reaction to them into your personality. Also incorporate a hobby/relaxation into here.
Powers: I am fine here but would like to see some of the strain of her telepathy reflected in her personality.
History: I am fine with it.
