RULES & REGULATIONS
1. Respect
Showing respect towards everyone, both staff and members is expected. Basically treat others well and you will be treated well too. This is one of the most important things for things to work well and for everyone to have a good time.
2. Conflicts
There might be conflicts as not all people in the world can get along, but if you have a problem with someone, please try to ignore it or take it in private, we do not want drama in our chat box.
3. Harassment
If somebody is making you feel uncomfortable or offended in any way, please talk to that person and let them know, if this does not help, please contact a member of the staff. Nobody is supposed to feel uncomfortable and unhappy on our site, we take this very seriously.
4. Discrimination
Discrimination against race, gender, sexual orientation, religion or anything else is unacceptable. Your characters may have their opinions and views, but that does not mean it is okay for you to voice views that will be considered discriminating. Please report these things to the staff.
5. Rating
Keep everything PG-13. We do not want anything inappropriate on the board, if you feel the need to role-play that, take it in private.
6. Copying/Stealing
Stealing other people's graphics, posts, applications or anything else is not acceptable. If you use somebody else’s graphics, you must credit it. Copy-pasting from other sites is not allowed, when you write things, you need to write it yourself and use your own words, this will also help you understand your character better if you write it yourself.
If you believe somebody on our site have copied/stolen your work, please let the staff know and we will try our best to sort it out.
7. Characters
We do not have any limit on how many characters you may have, but please be sensible, do not take on more characters than you know you can handle. If you have a character in mind, just have a look at the canon list which can be found HERE. Find the character you want on the list, it will show you if that character is taken or avaliable. If a character is marked as a prime character, it means you may not play as more than two of these, this is so that the most important characters wont all be played by the same people.
Big villain characters might be important plot-vise, so you may not app as Magneto, Sinister, Apocalypse and several others. If you are in doubt, always ask the staff, we are here to help. The reason for this is plot purposes, they are reserved for staff to use when needed.
8. Over Powered Characters
As the board is a school setting first, part of the role-play is in the exploration and learning of those powers. The average student level character should have very little of their ability mastered. While this will vary, it should be taken into consideration.
If you have a very powerful character for example Scarlet Witch, keep in mind what Ben Parker once said: “With great power, comes great responsibility” So no ruining the world or changing the whole reality etc. will not be happening unless it is staff approved. Non-canon reality manipulation will not be permitted.
9. Non-Mutant Characters
The rest of the Marvel universe does exist, but not all kinds of characters do make sense in our setting. Young characters like Spiderman or the Power Pack will most likely be accepted, while others like Punisher would not make much sense. If you are in doubt, please contact staff about it.
10. Non-Terrestrial, Time Traveling or Character From Other Dimensions etc.
Time travelers, alternate universe refuges, extraterrestrials tend to be character who become the focus of the story. As such they will be brought in on the basis of storyline events. If you wish to play a canon that falls into this category, it is up to the player to provide a way of modifying them for the board's play. Though we will be happy to act as a sounding board before you get into the app, in fact, we recommend it.
11. Godmoding & Metagaming
All actions in your threads must be approved by both players, you may not decide what other people's characters is doing or saying unless the other player approves of it.
12. Post Length and Activity
As a minimum, a player should be able to create a post of two full paragraphs in length and post once per character a week. But be sensible, try to match your roleplaying partner’s length, as working hard on a five paragraph post and then receiving a small paragraph as a reply is not fun. But we do understand that not all days are as good and that people’s posting capacity varies.
(02/01/13 Amendment, effective March 1st) On the first of each month, the staff members will sweep the board of finished and stalled threads. Members who have neglected a thread will be privately contacted and given a chance to correct the situation on their own. If this becomes a continuous problem, certain actions will be taken as detailed below including limiting a player's characters, limiting their involvement in storyline threads, and as a final recourse, stripping those characters. Leave of Absence notices are important and will be respected.
13. Application Process
In order to be accepted please post your application using our format to aid in our efforts. Do not post more than one application at a time, but if you do, know that we will complete the application process one of your apps at a time. Once two members of staff have given their approval you are free to post. If you wish to use an accepted character in your bio, please contact that player beforehand. If you wish to use a character that is NOT accepted, that use will be considered for approval by the staff. If you have any questions, feel free to ask any staff member. We are glad to assist in helping to ease your application process.
14. Graphics
Avatars and signature must not stretch the screen. Signatures should be no bigger than 500 X 375 and avatars no bigger than 200 x 200. If you need help to fix the size of your image, the staff is here to help you. Other images used on the board (in posts or for whatever reason) can be 500 wide by however long. No full pornographic or overly offensive images allowed.
15. Registration
You may register your account anything you like but your display name must be either your character’s name or codename. For each character you apply for you must register a separate account. This is so that there isn’t confusion about who you are playing.
16. Have Fun
The most important part of being on the board is having fun, get your characters out there and have fun roleplaying and get to know us in the chat box. Do not be afraid of asking us any questions, we are very friendly and helpful and want to create a friendly and fun environment.
